What is Bipty?

We see fashion as your biggest investment instead of your biggest expense. Bipty is a platform that is re-imagining the way we utilize fashion through Borrowing and Lending services. We Lend a diverse array of styles to borrow from all at a fraction of the cost. It’s a quick way to make some cash, and a sustainable way to try styles guilt-free. 

How do I book?

You can browse thousands of pieces sourced from Lenders in the community on the Bipty site. Found the styles that will make you feel your most confident? The booking process is simple: Choose between a 4 to 20 day period, picking the dates you need it by, and the Lender will be notified. If they accept, the Lender will ship the item to you (your card won't be charged until after the Lender accepts). At the end of the Borrow period, you can return the item unwashed.

How long can I Borrow for?

We offer a 4, 6, 8, 14, or 20 day Borrow period. The key to a smooth Borrow is choosing a start date 1-2 days before you plan to wear the piece.

How long does shipping take?

All Borrows are shipped with 3 day UPS shipping. To guarantee the best possible experience we ask that Borrowers book at least 7 days in advance to allow the Lender time to prepare and ship your item.

What if the item doesn't arrive on time?

You are eligible for a refund if your item arrives after your start date and does not arrive in time for your event. Always set your start date 1-2 days before you plan to wear the piece as we cannot guarantee the time/part of the day it will be delivered.

What if the item doesn’t fit?

We want you to feel your best when Borrowing, so we’ve planned ahead: Bipty requests information from each Lender regarding size and fit. This special Lender note is located in the description of each item. We also recommend double-checking the brand’s online size chart.

If you are still unsure about sizing, please fill out the Fit Inquiry form with your measurements and questions to ask the Lender as we do not offer refunds once the item has arrived.

What wear condition can I expect my Borrows to be in?

Bipty’s uniqueness is in its direct user-to-user format. Most items are pre-loved with a few exceptions, and all items are freshly washed before the Borrow period. We do not offer refunds for minor imperfections. If you have any questions about an item’s condition, feel free to text us at (949) 666 - 8702 for updated photos. What if I damage the item?

Please treat all items with care — as if you were borrowing from a friend or family member. 

In the event of a Minor Damage, Bipty reserves the right to charge the Borrower the cost to repair the item. Minor Damages include but are not limited to: removable stains, broken zippers, inconspicuous rips or snags, and/or other minor damages. 

If the item is excessively damaged, beyond repair, lost, stolen, or otherwise not returned, Bipty reserves the right to charge the Borrower up to the total estimated market value of the item.

What if I need to change or cancel my order?

You can cancel up to 7 days before your Borrow Start Date or before your Borrow is shipped for a full refund. Cancellations after the 7th day or after the item is shipped will not be refunded. In the case of a change or cancelation text us at (949) 666 - 8702

What if I need a longer Borrow period?

I’d like to order an item last minute, will it arrive in time for this weekend?

We know a last minute invite is killer, but to guarantee the best possible experience we ask that Borrowers book at least 7 days in advance to allow the Lender time to prepare and ship your item.

I’m not in the US, can I Borrow?

How do I return the item?

Break-ups are hard, but Bipty makes it easy. Simply place the unwashed piece back in the same package it arrived in with the included return label. On the morning of your return, drop off at your local UPS store and take a picture of the tracking receipt to document the drop off. We'll reference this photo as proof of return in the case of lost shipments or delays.

What if I return the item late?

We charge $10 for each additional day after the Borrow end date. Text (949) 666 - 8702 that you are unable to return on time.

Do I have to clean the item before I return it?

Nope! Please return the item unwashed.

What do I do if I misplaced the return label?

No worries! Text (949) 666 - 8702 and we will send you a new one.

What do I do if I misplaced the return packaging?

You can use any poly mailer that is 10" x 14" or smaller for return packaging.

What if my Borrow ends on a Sunday or holiday and UPS is closed?

Return on the next business day that UPS is open.


How do I list an item?

Submit your items for review here. We ask that items are in good condition, less than 2 years old, and have a retail price above $150.

What happens if my clothes are damaged or not returned?

We’ve got you covered — Bipty protects their Lenders in the case of damages. For minor damages, you are compensated for the repair cost of the item. In the case of major damages or non returns, you are compensated up to the market value of your item. Read our Terms of Service for more information

How much money do I make?

​​You choose how to price your item. If you aren’t sure how to go about pricing, our team can guide you to maximize your Borrows. Our Top Lenders make hundreds Lending to the Bipty community each month.

How much commission do you take?

We keep 15% of the Borrow price to keep Bipty running for you to enjoy.

How do I get paid?

We Venmo your earnings once your piece is returned.

Do I pay for shipping?

Nope! Unlike most platforms, you do not need to pay for shipping with Bipty. We send you a prepaid label to ship out your piece.

How does cleaning work?

We ask that Lenders clean their items to avoid accidental damages that often occur in the wash. This way, you have full control over how your item is cleaned. Lenders are able to choose their own cleaning price and are compensated in full.

What if I want to update my listing?

Email us at to retire your listing, alter the price, or with any other concerns about your piece.
